International Heritage Conference: National framework and strategy to Prevent illicit Trafficking of Artifact in Pakistan

UNESCO celebrated the 50 years of the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export, and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property in 2020. Pakistan has adopted the same convention but the National framework and interprovincial link for the prevention of theft and looting and the return and restitution of stolen cultural property is still facing a lack of communication and Coordination. Moreover, there is no such database or inventory of stolen objects designed at the National and provincial level as per international standards.
To create a dialogue, we have designed two special panels and would like to invite international and national researchers archaeologists, and experts in the field of preventing artifacts from illicit trafficking to share their best practices, role models National framework, and strategy to Prevent illicit Trafficking of Artifacts.
Panel 2: The Antiquities Collection of Private Collectors
The second panel will discuss the antiquities collection of Private collectors. Both individual collectors and private museums should be aware of the signs of looted antiquities.
Panelists are invited to submit papers for the conference proceedings and present a 15-minute presentation at the session. Paper submited, will be publish in conference proceddings.
