Amerind, a CfAS Partner organization, is pleased to announce support of a CfAS Design Workshop to be held in late 2024 at their campus in Dragoon, Arizona (USA). This will be the third design workshop held at Amerind since 2019. The two previous workshops—Human Migration as Understood from a Long-Term Perspective and Governance, Well-Being, and, Sustainability—were successful in launching collaborative synthetic working groups that leverage the archaeological record to address contemporary issues. The upcoming design workshop will focus on Urban Adaptation to Environmental Change. Workshop participants will connect with questions being asked by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for the 7th Assessment Report Cycle concerning localization methodology, climate resilient development, adaptation limits, and urban scale. Scholars interested in participating should look for a Request for Information (RFI) in late Spring. All CfAS Partners and Associates will be informed when the RFI is available.
